Because these lists may contain innacuracies we ask that you conduct your own research of public records; always verify any donation of concern with the individual. Contributions listed were made and reported as part of a democratic process. Inclusion in any such list does not make someone a bad person (although it doesn't necessarily help in our opinion), it's more about how much support we want to personally give that person.

3 arrested in N. California lesbian gang rape case

One man and two teens have been arrested on suspicion of gang-raping a woman last month in the San Francisco Bay area while allegedly taunting her for being a lesbian, police said Thursday as they searched for a fourth suspect.

Officers arrested 31-year-old Humberto Hernandez Salvador at his Richmond home Wednesday night, Richmond police Lt. Mark Gagan said. The suspect is being held without bail on gang rape, kidnapping and carjacking charges.

Police also arrested a 15-year-old Richmond boy a… Continue

Support for Richmond Attack Victim

On December 13th, a twenty-eight-year-old California woman was brutally raped by four men because she is a lesbian and had a rainbow sticker on her car.

The woman could need months to recover physically and years to recover psychologically. She was attacked near her apartment and does not want to go back. Along w… Continue

California Faith for Equality

A much needed and timely group has emerged to proclaim loud and clear that most people of faith do not support intolerance. Most importantly they provide resources to speak at churches and congregations to teach tolerance.

http://cafaithforequality.org/

As people of faith, many of us are called to act for justice. To heal the rift between faith communities and lesbian gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, we are driven to engage ourContinue

Pope: LBGT Pose Global Threat to Humanity

In light of the violent acts of rape, arson, and murder routinely committed against our community I am concerned that such headlines will invite even more violence against us.

In this most recent attack, LBGT are compared to a global scourge that threatens to destroy humanity.

Anti-LBGT Initiative "License" for Prejudice

When Pastor Warren compares our community to deviants and predators it creates violence against us. When the faith press repeatedly describes our peaceful movement as a violent campaign, it creates violence against us.

Via Associated Press:

"Anytime there is an anti-LGBT initiative, we tend to see spikes both in the numbers and the severity of attacks," he said. "People feel this extra entitlement to act out their prejudice." --Richmond police Lt. Mark Gagan

Proponents of Prop. 8 don't follow Jesus' teachings

Many Christians feel that support of Proposition 8 is un-Christian. See Proponents of Prop. 8 don't follow Jesus' teachings

[...]Today I am saddened by what the proponents of Proposition 8 have done. As a heterosexual married family man, I am not an advocate of gay rights. Neither am I an advocate of discrimination, regardless of the form it takes.

Having spent the major part of my adult life trying to discern what the life

This week in gay-bashing

From the excellent people at YouCantHideYourHate we have this sad summary of events this week for the LBGT community.

-The US joins China, Russia, and pretty nearly every Islamic Country in refusing to sign on to a UN declaration opposing persecution of homosexuals.

-Obama extends an invitation to Rick Warren to preside over the beginning of his term as president.

-Obama fails to include a single out gay or lesbian in his cabinet or his i… Continue

Jerry Brown's reverse on gay-marriage ban: Is it a game-changer?

LA Times in Jerry Brown's reverse on gay-marriage ban: Is it a game-changer?

Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown's reversal on Proposition 8 -- he now is asking the California Supreme Court to reject it -- is the talk of the blog world today. Of course, the pro-gay-marriage forces are happy. But there is a lot of debate about whether Brown's rejection of the voters' will on gay marriage can fly… Continue
