Please Don't Divorce Us - Photo Project

UPDATED: See the photo from our own Randy and David!

Via Courage Campaign

Ken Starr and the "Yes on 8" campaign are trying to forcibly divorce 18,000 couples in California.

It's time for all of us put a face to Ken Starr's shameful legal proceedings.

We all need to make sure our opponents, our friends, our neighbors, the press, and the country know that this isn't just a court case. No matter whether you are straight or gay, the lives of your spouses, your friends, and your family members hang in the balance.

My friends, Brian D. and Brian L., were married just a few months ago in a beautiful Bay Area wedding. Last night, after hearing the news, they took the picture above [more photos - slideshow] and sent it to me

It broke my heart.

Brian and Brian were willing to share their photo with the Courage Campaign community. No matter your marital status or sexual orientation, will you share your photo with us, as part of a community photo project?

If so, please take a picture with a plain 8.5" by 11" piece of paper that sends a special message, like "Please don't divorce us," "Please don't divorce my mothers," "Please don't divorce my friends, Name and Name," or "Please don't divorce Californians." Print it out, or write it clearly in big, block letters. Then send your pictures to us at:

PleaseDontDivorce@CourageCampaign.org

We'll put all of your pics together in one place and make sure all the right people get the message -- the lawyers behind the effort, the press, our friends and neighbors.

Thank you for everything you are doing to restore marriage equality and push for progressive change in California.
